This is a 7-day tour of the beautiful backwaters of Kerala, India. The tour includes visits to popular attractions in Kochi and Munnar, as well as a leisurely houseboat cruise along the serene backwaters of Alleppey. The tour also includes a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and a sunset cruise on Vembanad Lake. It’s a perfect way to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of Kerala.

 

 

Day 1: Arrival in Kochi
  • Upon arrival at Kochi airport, you will be met by your tour representative who will assist you with your transfer to your hotel.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure to relax or explore the local markets.
Day 2: Kochi City Tour
  • After breakfast, head out to explore Kochi’s historic attractions, including the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets, and St. Francis Church.
  • In the evening, enjoy a Kathakali dance performance, a traditional form of Kerala dance-drama.
Day 3: Munnar Hill Station
  • After breakfast, head out on a scenic drive to Munnar, a picturesque hill station in the Western Ghats.
  • En route, stop at Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls for some photo opportunities.
  • Upon arrival in Munnar, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 4: Munnar Tea Plantations
  • After breakfast, visit the tea plantations in Munnar, where you can see how tea is grown, harvested, and processed.
  • Visit the Tata Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea production in the region.
  • In the evening, enjoy a walk through the beautiful tea gardens.
Day 5: Alleppey Backwaters
  • After breakfast, head out to Alleppey, also known as the Venice of the East.
  • Check into a traditional houseboat and enjoy a leisurely cruise along the tranquil backwaters, passing through picturesque villages and lush greenery.
  • Enjoy a traditional Kerala lunch and dinner on board the houseboat.
Day 6: Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
  • After breakfast on the houseboat, disembark and drive to Kumarakom.
  • Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, which is home to a wide variety of bird species.
  • In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise on Vembanad Lake.
Day 7: Departure from Kochi
  • After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kochi airport for your onward journey.
